I currently hold a bachelor in accounting and I am looking into transition to the Cybersecurity world. I have an interest in working with the banks doing penetration testing.

Can anyone recommend a Tech Bootcamps in the ATL or Metro Atlanta Area

How can I get started ?

If you want to get started in cyber I’d recommend starting at the beginning rather than jumping straight into learning Pentesting. Like start by learning the basics in something like SANS GSEC or CompTIA Security+. You can find lots of free stuff on YouTube and cybrary (free videos), lots of books, etc. Next I would look into something like Pentest+ also from CompTIA. This isn’t the best but it will make sure you understand the basics of Pentesting. Once you’re good to go on those fronts I’d look into Offensive Security’s Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP).
Pentest+ is a multiple choice test, and OSCP is a practical exam.

Hi Fishbowl Community,

I am making a career switch from Marketing/Account Management into Consulting. Would appreciate if someone can share their path into this field and how they went about finding a case study partner to practice with? Any great books/ or recommended online programs/certifications would be helpful too!

Thanks 😊

Hi Everyone,
Any suggestions on networking in the private finance sector?
I recently transitioned from public to private sector finance to be more well-rounded and I’m having a hard time connecting with people in the space. I work for a fund admin in the digital asset space for HF & PE/VC firms and I noticed how much “bro culture” seems to impact the industry. Networking is hard enough working from home but I know how important it is to make those connections.

Thoughts on the below role?

Got messaged about an analyst job doing the preliminary discovery stuff including dashboards. But not for the business, but to give recommendations to data scientists about where to focus. Having been a modeling DS, I can't imagine why I'd outsource exploratory analysis. Anyone seen a team like this before?

Also worried about career prospects. I've been wanting to turn business facing, but becoming the only DA on a DS team seems like it'd be a dead end with promos?

Is it a good idea to tell your manager intentions of leaving?

Recently had my review and it didn’t go how I expected. No raise, no promotion. I expressed disappointment but took the criticism I was given to reach my goal in 6 months or a year.

However, there are a number of issues that bother me enough where I want to move on.

The team I am on is small and I know that when I leave, they’ll have a lot on their hands. I only have a couple of interviews scheduled and nothing is solid yet.

Hi all,
Need an advice. I am confused between doing masters or learn tech stack and increase experience and salary.
*My primary goal is to earn more.*
If masters I have to do in US or UK, so GRE, GMAT.
If for learning and tech experience I can learn tech stacks.
But I am confused between this.
Could you please tell or suggest what would be a better choice? Is doing masters in US or UK is a better ROI or be in India and gain exp and earn more by switching?
Currently I am a Java developer.
TIA
