Completely and totally miserable at my firm and just need a space to vent because my friends are tired of hearing about it. I’m an associate in a busy bankruptcy group (just started after a clerkship) and I’ve started to have to to turn down work because I’m too busy (I don’t tell partners no, but say something along the lines of “I don’t think I’d be able to start on that for a day or two”). Just started in Biglaw as a first year - one of the partners made a passing remark that he couldn’t remember my PQE but thinks I’m “the same as X associate”. Went on LinkedIn and saw that X associate is a third year. How do I gently correct this misconception in a future conversation?

After you are stealth laid off, other than job search, what do you do? I assume they won’t give you work and even if they do, you can politely decline?
