Does anyone here work in retail? I'm wondering if anyone else is noticing this trend, but it feels like the wages just aren’t keeping up with the cost of living, especially lately. I’ve noticed more staff mentioning struggles with rent, transport, and general expenses, even with overtime. It’s getting harder to attract and retain good people when wages don’t reflect how expensive things have gotten in Ireland. Are others seeing the same thing in their shops?

Is it a bad idea to give my notice before my background check clears? I’m due to start at EY soon but my background check is going to clear less than 2 weeks before my start date. Interviewing for a Google job. Currently an M2 at Meta. On the cusp of a D1 - what’s the equivalent level for D1 at Google? In Austin - so what salary should I be asking for and RSUs? Currently make base $250k plus 25% bonus and started Meta with 200k in stock. Also to note I’ve reached 5yrs so I have that 30d paid vacay coming up which I would lose if I took the google offer, if I got it. How honest are people when other companies ask for your comp?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I’ve been verbally offered a position at a new company, but the recruiter insists on getting a verbal acceptance before sending the offer in writing. This person insists on negotiating salary before sending the paperwork. Generic benefits, RSUs, bonus info have been provided; it’s all unofficial.
