Does anyone use AI for deposition summaries? What platforms do you recommend? Tried Google Gemini and it was so incredibly wrong.

Many of the white-collar work AI use cases aren’t built for what we do. It doesn’t have the level of nuance and generalizes far too much.

The good news is the job does involve lots of non-billable admin work and AI is good at that, which frees you up to do real legal work

We have done two separate trials of AI software from West and Lexis to write up medical. My take is that it can maybe save time and give you a general idea of what is in the source material, but you definitely have to go through and review the source material because sometimes the AI gives too much and sometimes too little. Formatting is also a big issue. This will never be better than a human from what I've seen to this point. If you want something fast to get a general taste of the source material then maybe it's okay. This isn't a magic wand by any means.

In this case it completely made up things not in the source material. I’ve liked Lexis protoge as a starting point for research

A lot of it is in your prompt. I have had decent success with Perplexity, but like most have said you do still have to go back through to tweak and correct. Still cuts time down for a full page line

like

I get that to an extent but it’s concerning if it gives the prompt for weight than the actual content you’re asking it to summarize. Example: I asked it to summarize two docs about a slip and fall that happened in September 2016. It generated a summary on a motor vehicle accident that happened November 2018. Even made up the model of the car being driven where there’s no mention of that anywhere in the testimony.

Ended up wasting the hour with AI just to do it myself anyway

You have to have a good prompt on an AI platform that is specific to law to get a good first draft done for you. Then you review & revise accordingly.

Westlaw Case note book will do a decent abstract. But yeah you need to check it if you’re going to cite from it.

Does anyone have any resources to help me prepare for this? Anything is greatly appreciated!

I am interviewing with a company. Last week, one week after the interview, my hiring manager reached out to me with a couple of clarifying questions. We talked then I sent him recommendation letters from my previous employers. He said that I should have an answer from them this week whether I get an offer or not. I haven’t heard back since and yesterday I reached out to the recruiter to get some status updates. She has not responded. It’s already Friday. Is it a bad sign or am I overthinking?

I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. Any thoughts?

Currently 1 YOE tech consulting at Deloitte looking to make a hop to more strategy type roles and came across the strategy analyst development program- 1. is this only for fresh undergrads from specific schools or would I be able to apply? 2. What’s the compensation at this level? (worried I might have to take a pay cut). Also would appreciate any remarks regarding the program in general. Thanks!

What does an exit from Salesforce consulting look like? I’m in a technical role leading a small team so my understanding is a technical/solution architect or a development team lead at either Salesforce or an end user like Amazon/Amex.

I have bounced around a couple consulting companies so would prefer not to do it again. Total 4 YOE.

I don’t think I have enough YOE to go for a program architect role at SF otherwise I’d be interested.

Mid-level associate at a mid-size regional insurance defense firm practicing coverage litigation. Salary is capped b/c my firm only does I.D./coverage and has no direct-hire comm clients. Second round of interviews with a comm lit boutique where I would be the only associate with 5 partners. Other than partner track, salary/benefits, and switching from coverage to general comm lit, what qualities of the move should I be thinking about as I weigh my options? I've never worked at another firm.

Hi new here. Idk what my value is and if I’m getting paid an amount that reflects my hard work. I am a paralegal for a small law firm (family and immigration) w only 1 attorney. I have about 20 files or more in my rotation at a time. I work on various types of cases at once. Some are simple, others are extensive. I feel like it’s very unstructured and one of the managers micromanages. It’s like every man for himself. Take home pay is $50k. I am working on my bachelors deg. Do I get paid enough?
