I have two questions. I have 10 years of experience in multiple sectors and I have been trying to gain a leadership position. I am attempting my PHR this summer but what are some tips in order for me to obtain a leadership position? Also, how long does it take to obtain another position out of state? I am trying to move to Houston but I don’t want to move until I am confident I can obtain a position in the city before packing up and leaving.
Internal promotions can be some of the best ways to get into leadership. Look for companies in which it is a real possibility.
I have, but a lot of the companies I have worked for say they promote internal promotions, but no one get promoted internally or it is menial or no indication of when the internal promotion will take place
Many leaders have the ability to organize people, coordinate resources, and display ingenuity in order to move a company ahead. Strong leaders inspire and encourage their people to do a variety of duties to a high degree. It's a good idea to assess yourself if you have these qualities
I am confident that I have portrayed these characteristics and qualities, but I always get passed by due to no experience/position. I have seen people go from a generalist to a manager and was wondering how I can make that transition as well. I may have to consider a mentor as well
