HUG. You’re doing amazing and there’s only so much you can control or should take on as a junior. Chin up, you’re smashing it!!
This is so appreciated, thank you so much!
Omg I feel similarly. I feel like the dumbest person to ever be an attorney and I crave compliments but my boss is not the type to give compliments!!
Total same boat, I feel so stupid all the time! A3 is definitely right that the rare compliment is very exciting haha. Sending good vibes to you!!
Hey there. I switched from litigation to corporate during my fourth year of practice and had a rough time during the transition. It gets better. Keep it up… you got this!
Thank you so much! It’s been a few months now and lately every time I’m faced with something I haven’t seen before (which is a loooot) I just feel miserable. It’s good to know that it got better!!
Third year associate who just made the exact same switch (starting off as a first year in corp). It’s hard to start from scratch, especially when you feel like you just got the hang of things, so I can totally relate. I have faith that it will get better soon and that I made the right decision for myself!
As someone who wants to make this switch…what are you struggling with exactly? I would love to learn more about your experience if you’re willing to share.
I echo the other posters. It’s hard to start fresh. Your supervising lawyers should have realistic expectations regarding your skill set. Christmas is hard for transactional lawyers. In the end, Corporate is great because you will help people grow businesses and develop great relationships with clients. Every year gets easier and more fun. Keep at it!!!
Same exact boat my friend!!!!!
