Benchmark Advance here. It’s our first year using it.
Our district uses it. I taught 4th with it but now help others since I’m the school librarian now. I coach teachers on using it.
Email me and I can give you a play by play. Let me know what grade you will be teaching. Do you have the materials yet? Have you ever done guided reading groups before? What curriculum were you using before? Ebajwinters1@gmail.com
I use steps to advance which is the special education version of benchmark
We've used it the past two years. Like any adoption it has good and bad features. My favorite part is that students can interact so easily with the text (since they can write in the booklets). I feel like spelling program is a bit weak, grammar only marginally better. I have missed feelings about the writing. While I really like the amount of writing and cyclical nature of the program, I feel like l need to do more instruction in the art and structure of writing than the program gives. We supplement using Step Up to Writing.
