Yes 💯, but as I want partnership track post covid am looking to convert once remote options dissipate. If you’re working both busy seasons it’s not much different than the regular job. Higher income in shorter time, but you would be salaried during slow periods.

like

Pay if you work both seasons can be better than benefits+salary imo and yes since we’re hourly and don’t eat hours it can be better, but nothing is guaranteed. I think at the senior level you’ll have a lot more OT avg 60 hours during peak months.

Boundaries are fluid, but again we’re seasonal and not expected to work around the clock so it’s based on your availability and engagements. EY recruiters specifically talk about the benefits gap in your rate to make up for it which average 25-30% extra.

Also, you’ll always make more per hour on hourly than salary.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to leverage the hive mind in finding out how best to negotiate a verbal offer for a 100%-remote Product Manager role in NYC, with a IT infrastructure/digital services firm (MNC but non-American):

Base salary: 120k

Sign-on bonus:10k

Bonus: 15%

No stock options

How competitive is this, and what should I negotiate for please? The written offer comes after verbal agreement.

I've 10 YOE in tech project management; 7 in product management.

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!

Compliance question here, I have always thought of the SALT deduction on the fed return as a perm item & have treated as such in such sch M-3. I see that some people put it as a temp on sch M-3. What is the justification for treating it as a temp on the M-3. You don’t set up a deferred on the def RF for the state tax deduct & it is also a rate impacting item (I know that some temps can be rate impacting). But this all leaves me to side with perm. Does anyone know the logic behind temp treatment?
