- Yes SO knows. Family decision. Lol.
- 30 minutes total in procedure room. Maybe 15 for the actual procedure. Very little pressure, zero pain. Way easier than I thought.
- Will let you know on recovery. Surgical anesthetic (local) just wearing off now. Have been icing for last 2 hours and keeping up with Tylenol. Can def feel tenderness when I engage my abs, but that’s easy enough to avoid. Can go back to work next day typically. I’ll WFH Monday and fly Tuesday PM. No lifting, running, sports for a couple weeks though
- 3 kids, oldest just turned 5
Recovery still v smooth. Iced for 80% of first 24 hours. 3 bags of frozen peas in rotation. Fresh pack at bedtime, took it out when thaw, and slept through night without another. Back on in the AM. Showered and ditched the panties and gauze (for those with wives who’ve given birth - same thing). Just compression shorts and gym shorts with suspension now. Staying timely with Tylenol and will ice as needed, but up and about doing dishes, laundry, stairs, changing lightbulbs etc.
Still hemming and hawing for the wife a bit so I can sit and catch up on GoT but that’s mostly show. 😈
How long did it take? How bad is the recovery? How many days off do you need to take?
I need to set mine up.
I had mine done 12 years ago. Best decision ever. Procedure was done on a Friday, and I played the original assassins creed all weekend while it healed. Had to keep my 3 year old from jumping into my lap, but that was a minor inconvenience. No “adult time” for a couple weeks, or until the doc gives you the all clear.
Relax and ice for a day or two. Not a big deal.
First test passed. Shooting blanks. Need to do 1 more in a couple weeks
Does your SO know yet?
How many kids first?
What kind of doc? My GP who does my checkups said his partner does ✂️ outpatient in their offices; my buddy who is a doc said no way and I should see a urologist.
Urologist. Pretty basic procedure. As a general rule for basic procedures, go with a doc who has done 10,000 of them. Met with 2 docs, both with strong personal referrals. Chose on bedside manner
Mine was real smooth. I walked out of the hospital shortly afterward and took con calls 30 minutes after the procedure. I had a pro doc, maybe that’s why
If you’re in the DMV area I known a great doc who did mine and I could refer you to him
Thanks. Pretty sure once is enough. Technically won’t know for a couple months though...
OP I know you’re good to go. I think there was some wine else in the comments mulling it over. Welcome to the club!
Love that idea. Should see if I can combine with upgrade to a 4K TV and make the best. Weekend. Ever.
Lots of guys do there’s in March so they can enjoy March madness
I’ve heard that; makes sense for b-ball fans. A weekend of binging movies and games is my March madness
How much did it cost? Does insurance cover it since it's elective? We're planning on it after the next kid.
Free Yes, insurance covers it. It’s birth control (and way cheaper than covering another kid).
Had mine done by a urologist but I had an insane amount of pressure.
Second test passed
