Due to the upcoming exam changes, any sections passed at of December 2023 will be extended to expire in June 2025 if the state approved. Am I understanding this correctly?

Does that include BEC? I’ve read certain things that make me believe that any credit on BEC expires on 12/31/23. I’ve also seen that it’s a normal 18 month expiration period. Does anyone know?

So does that mean we get more time for the credits if we don’t take all the exams right away?

If you take an exam today and pass you have until June 2025 to pass the remainder assuming you’re in a state that has credit extension. So yes you have 2+ years instead of 18 months.

What if I passed BEC August 2022? Does this mean the credit is extended if I don’t pass in that 18 month window?

When does it expire? If it’s before 1/1/2024 I believe you lose it. If it’s after 1/1/2024, it extends until June 2025, assuming your state has approved the extension.

If I am reading this correctly, this is the perfect time to be taking the CPA exam. You basically have 2-3 years to get through all the exams. Am I reading that right?

New York folks:
Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.
