Earlier this year my company offered a fairly extensive VBO with a deadline at the end of March. Recently there’s been a lot of internal chatter that even if everyone offered accepted it, it still wouldn’t meet the target number. So now it feels like everyone is just waiting to see if layoffs are coming. The waiting is honestly the hardest part. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of uncertainty at work? Do you usually just carry on as normal, or start preparing in case things take a turn?

Is it worth telling my mgr something eg I recognize the careless mistakes and I'm in the process of seeing tx to help?

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

I have been in client facing wealth management as an advisor for 10 years. I haven’t built a book of business because I’ve worked for mostly discount brokers (Merrill edge, TDA, Etrade). I want to know how to transition to a non client facing role in wealth management or another financial role. I am series 7 and series 66 licensed. Any thoughts?

Should I decline the offer and ask to be considered for a higher role that better fits my qualifications? The offer I had was with a great bank but I'm overqualified for that. Its been hard to find a job because I dont have prior experiences.
