he spent his time on achieving his own dreams instead of wasting his life thinking about why other people have so much more money
darwin… that’s how natural selection works
The only people who complains about other people’s success are the same ones that wants free money. Instead of grinding it out to be successful. the more you care about what other successful people do, the saltier you become.
Why should others succeeding mean that they should give up more? Are we communist?
Why is it depressing? Go forth and make the leap of faith to produce products in new markets. You too could be a million/billion/trillionaire
If you are suggesting that billionaires should not exist, the same can be said about the poor — the truth is… life is optional. Based on your logic, every time you receive a paycheck or a raise it “makes everyone else poorer”, so you should practice what you preach and stop receiving anymore $.
God but envious people are tiresome.
I appreciate that there is more to the world than the US, but the trillionaire in question was created because of our capital markets, and Elon's place of birth is irrelevant. He's a naturalized US citizen and has created his wealth in the US. There are also many of billionaires outside the US but somehow, so many Americans are obsessed with why US billionaires, and now a trillionaire, aren't solving all of the world's problems. Curious why that is. Could it be because of the constant rhetoric that they, and the US, are somehow responsible for the world's problems?
So, what's your solution? Are you suggesting that the US or its wealthy residents are responsible for taking care of all the people in the world? Are you suggesting that we somehow cap the individual's ability to achieve certain economic milestones? Should this be done across borders without regard to country sovereignty? If so, who makes that decision. I can guarantee that there are groups of people out there that would conclude that you should give up everything for their benefit. Where, then, does it stop? Certainly not at the trillionaires, billions, or even millionaires. This is why so many people in the US, and other democracies, are against socialist and communist ideas that seem to have gained support in this country. While it seems righteous and fair to take from people that are better off than you (others) in an effort to make it more equitable, there is always someone less fortunate screaming that the system isn't fair to them. As much as people might want some utopian paradise where we all share equally in the world, humans aren't built that way. As a result, whomever is given the role to decide who and what is enough end up with all the power, and always also end up with more resources than the general public. Bernie Sanders is a great example. Remember when he rallied against millionaires? Then he became one and his focus shifted to billionaires. Once he gained power and following, he suddenly became less charitable with his own wealth. I prefer to live in a world where there is more freedom to let the market decide. Obviously, there is no true free market because governments always intervene, but I'd argue that we're as good as anyone. This isn't to say we shouldn't always try to help people who need it, but I think confiscating resources from others against their will is hardly the answer.

White male, rich father, “it’s all for me” attitude. Don’t forget the huge role he has played in crippling our rich government, all those experts out of jobs. Black women unemployed at record levels. We need higher taxes on extreme wealth so that wealthy people cannot subvert government the way he has. Don’t forget his companies pay almost nothing in taxes.
not obnoxious, *obvious, which is not my opinion, you said obvious, not me
The world’s first trillionaire is an African! Who would have thought it🌍
While Elon Musk is African by birth, his success cannot be separated from the apartheid system that legally structured his early life. Growing up in the white minority elite, he benefited directly from state enforced monopolies on wealth, top-tier education, and global mobility that were systematically denied to the Black African majority. Acknowledging his African identity without this context erases the brutal racial caste system that provided the foundational capital, security, and immense structural head start necessary for his global entrepreneurial journey.
When people use the blanket label "African success story" for someone like Elon Musk, it creates a false narrative. It implies he overcame the same structural and economic hurdles faced by everyday Africans, when in reality, his white minority status shielded him from those exact hardships.
On paper
Elon Musk’s companies have secured dozens of "no-bid" or "sole-source" government contracts over the last two decades. Used to be illegal.
go for it, until then, innocent until proven guilty
@consulting 1. Im investing, im putting money in my Roth and maxing out my traditional retirement. Im up 50k and I have 30 years left until I retire. I could care less what Elon thinks. I only care about myself. Maybe stop assuming bc you’re only making an ass out of yourself. Saying what you just said. Instead of complaining start grinding like a lot of us. Instead of worrying what other people do. Start worrying about your future bc to me it sounds like you haven’t started. Don’t start too late to invest.
Elon may have some bad takes, but as far as I know he made his money by founding a ridiculous breadth of successful companies by providing innovative products. NO ONE does what he has done, from a market perspective (not layering my own opinion or yours here; just literally nobody has ever done anything like what he has with his string of successes in diverse areas).
Now, if you want to whine about something, whine about how he got to do this because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, or about how generational wealth is unearned, or something.
He did not found Tesla but nobody thinks it would have had the same impact without him
Oh my…regarding his philanthropic efforts : donating Starlink terminals to provide internet connectivity to disaster-struck zones (like parts of Ukraine or rural regions globally via the UN's Giga project), and donating $1 million to Flint, Michigan schools for water filtration systems. The Musk Foundation donated $55 million to St. Jude in 2021. The foundation has heavily funded STEM-focused education. This includes over $470 million funneled into "The Foundation," a separate entity Musk created to establish STEM-focused primary schools and an eventual university in Austin, Texas.
Regarding the Warren report, Musk earned multi year government contracts under the Biden administration. But Warren probably left that part out, given her reputation for being lax on her research abilities.
In High School, Musk earned a 1400 SAT score which roughly translates to an IQ of 122 to 130. This still places him in the top 5% to 8% of the population—highly intelligent. By some estimates his IQ is likely around 160 now, which would place him in the "highly gifted" or genius range (the top 0.1% of the population).

The answer to the issue of influence, which is very real, is significant campaign finance reform in the US. Stringent caps on what PACs, and individual campaign contributions. Laws against the kind of role Elon had in DOGE (or enforcement of said laws, the Republican Congress did not do their jobs). The answer to this very real concern is not "cap wealth", but absolutely "cap and limit the influence of personal wealth". The Democrat principle of one person one vote doesn't mean that much what political leaders can be entirely bought and sold by a wealthy level of exclusive oligarchs.
Poor libs with TDS can’t stand seeing a man achieve what no other ever has in our history. Elon Musk is God’s gift to science. He gave you your EV and solar power at scale and now he’s giving you internet anywhere in the world. So much has come from his achievements we will talk about this like we have the moon landing years ago.
When you own multiple successful companies and have over 15% of the outstanding shares of Tesla stock and over 40% of SpaceX, and owns Starlink and xAI. You are going to be wealthy. That's pretty much how capitalism works.
Elon Musk became the world's first trillionaire following the record-breaking public listing of his aerospace and AI company, SpaceX. The massive initial public offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq pushed his net worth over $1.1 trillion, primarily driven by the soaring market capitalization of his concentrated stock holdings.
Musk’s stratospheric wealth is overwhelmingly tied to equity in his business ventures rather than cash. His trillionaire status was cemented through several specific financial milestones
unbalanced is subjective
He creates businesses and products people buy. He is rich due to his stock.
He followed his vision, stayed true to his vision and executed his vision. His contribution has ignited a new space race. And all on SpaceX's terms. If you have a trillionare idea. Spend time on that instead of worrying about Elon Musk

Elon will never know what it means to be in a loving relationship, or have any meaningful connection with his numerous children. He's just another toddler adult with deep mommy and daddy issues that formed his "drive" and "character". In the end he'll end up like the main character from Citizen Kane that was based on the life of William Randolf Hearst. The sooner he gets himself to Mars, the better off Earth will be.
Objective evidence would lead to a prima facie conclusion that Elon has engaged in at least one and likely multiple meaningful relationships.
Maybe get medicated ? That should’ve depress you 🫶🏽
I commend him, honestly. Yes, he may have been born into a family that was already rich. He worked damn hard to get to where he is, and he is gifted.
I understand your point. I'm typing this as I have no idea how I am going to pay rent for July. Debt up the wazoo, depleted my retirement funds.
However, I choose to celebrate others' wins. Elon deserved this. And I have the choice to make better decisions.
It seems my comment was removed for being truthful. I think we all remember the "funny wave" Musk gave. But that's what it is to be rich in America.
...And 5,000 of his employees became millionaires. Are you sad about that? Do you feel badly for them?
