“Step up opportunity “ 😂
I think it's more polite to use "we" when I coach my associates. I also felt the same when I was an associate myself too. Always better to say "We should be doing..." , "It's better if we do it that way" rather than pointing fingers and saying things like "You need to fix this" "You need to change it to..." ,etc.
I know it's totally a personal preference but you're probably not gonna change the way people talk.
You right you right sometimes it just grinds the gears though

I'm with you. At least be straight up with who is doing the work. I also like when it is positioned as a learning opportunity.
Maybe you should think about the fact that you’re on a project *team* a bit more then
Anytime people use “we” in a meeting and don’t specifically assign it to someone then I know it’s not getting done.
As a manager sometimes I use “we” as a coaching thing. I’m looking for someone on my team to run with the idea and own the execution of it.

I generally use it in a “I don’t want to commit anyone in front of you but will do so when we are offline” context.
I’m okay with using “we” if it’s something broad like “the team will plan this / do this”. But when it’s a specific task like sending this email to the client or setting up a meeting invite, I hope people can just say “could you please email.. could you please send out an invite”, rather than “we should email” “we should schedule a meeting” if they really is expecting YOU to do it.

You’re right- it’s really YOU and the team. I expect the team to come together and figure out how to get this done without me having to assign every morsel. There’s also an accountability portion to saying “we”, we all own the quality and execution as a team by the time it gets delivered.
