Likely to get judged if it looks flashy and out of place (aka post grad consultants rocking their gold Rolex at a client site that’s a call center in the midwest).
This is easily avoidable though by just dressing appropriate to the occasion. The only time my watches will ever get noticed is if another watch person notices it
It’s funny, my local AD thinks this is part of the reason steel watches are making such a come back.
My mom is a teacher and wears a 30k Rolex, none of her coworkers have noticed/mentioned it in the past 10 years
Funny. This is the concern that keeps me from buying a Rolex. But I really don’t think that most people will notice, unless it’s something gaudy.
With that said, my CRO wears one of the all silver yachtmasters and it looks absurd
Almost no one notices my 114270 or 16570 Polar. Don't get the typical Rolex and you'll fly under the radar. I'd even go so far as to say avoid modern Rolexes. They are pushing into the luxury jewelry watch category, and as a result are becoming larger, shinier and flashier. Not one person has commented on either of my Explorers or my Speedmaster. Alternatively, I get a ton of comments on my Casio Royale every single time I wear it.
I’ve never noticed a watch in my life. 🤷♂️
