Honestly nothing I did to prepare for the LSAT mattered at all once I got to law school anyway so in that sense I don’t think it is too bad if it goes away but that being said there wasn’t really much I did in undergrad that helped either so I don’t think using undergrad grades solely would be too good either. I suppose I’d rather see the LSAT adapted to be more in line with what actual law school testing and content is like rather than the random subject matter it currently does.
And agreed it should be a multiple choice subject matter test. Like the mbe section of the bar exam.
Well I have mixed emotions. It’s a horrible test but at the same time I did horrible at it and it really kept me from going to a top law school and likely significantly influenced the trajectory of my career and potential earnings. I always had an issue with taking too long to complete the questions, and still remember that I only finished 2 out of 4 logic games sections. A part of me is just bitter that someone like me out of undergrad would now have that opportunity to do what I wanted when I had that drive.
Has no impact on me, since I already went to law school. Things change, that’s life.
I think it's a little bit of a shame, only because I think some students have a chance at schools they wouldn't have gotten into otherwise based on their LSAT scores. I wouldn't mind if it was optional, so that if someone already had the grades to get into school and they didn't want to take it they didn't have to.
As someone recently made the decision to sit, not sure how I feel tbh
Are they actually getting rid of it?
The studies from like 15 years ago when I took it strongly suggested it was the strongest indicator of law school performance around.
Don’t really care since it’s just school admissions procedure. It’s the bar that could use some changing imo. Like all states adopt UBE and narrow the exam to test performance of what real practice is like, such as the MPRE portion of the exam.
