Every posting wants trial experience, but most of my cases settle before that point so I don’t have much to point to. It’s not like I can control that. How are people getting past that when it keeps coming up?

I can’t speak to how others are getting that experience, but if you aren’t applying to postings that request that experience you should start. In many cases job postings are a grab bag of all the desirable traits in an associate, and you still might be hired with only a portion of the skills or experiences

Currently scheduling “on sites” for a S&O role in CA. My referrer said they can hire as L5 or L6. Would like to land in the L6 bucket as I’ve heard 5 --> 6 is one of the more challenging promotions.

I’m looking for info on what the real difference is in responsibilities (manager vs IC, cross functional vs focused, etc) so I can focus on checking the L6 boxes during my interviews.

I’m also curious about whether this is something that I should just discuss with my recruiter directly?

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar.
