Good or Bad?
My referral had interviews w/ (1)
recruiter, (1) SM, then the series of
(3) 1:1's w/(1) MD and (2) SM's.
The recruiter said he will now have
an interview in Jan. w/ the PPMD.
He interviewed for a M role in
consulting for customer marketing.

He does have a wide skill set and the
recruiter said it was all positive
feedback, just have to find out
where to put him (on the team he
interviewed for or another he is
qualified for).Deloitte
Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

If you are open to a better position, I would say go ahead and chat. I am happy at my position and recruiters reach out to me often, but I will still respond if something looks good. I always tell them upfront that I am happy but that for the right position I would be willing to discuss it. I also let them know what my minimum requirements are to discuss it - usually that it has to be remote and substantially more pay. I have had a few good conversations this way but currently nothing has persuaded me to leave my current position.
Nothing wrong, but don't waste their time.
You should always feel comfortable talking to a recruiter and asking questions. We know not everyone we talk to will end up looking or working with them but I would suggest if you end up looking find one you trust and use them. Saves you time in the process and easier to work with just one. Good luck! There is a lot of opportunity right now. Jobs are up 70% since January. Most firms have flexibility on location, how many days a week you will need to be in the office once things open up and some even ok with fully remote.
If you’re not actively looking I wouldn’t actively contact recruiters but there’s nothing wrong with answering the phone or responding to LinkedIn requests. Also: have your expected salary range ready cause that would be one of the first questions they ask.
