Everyone’s pushing AI, automation, and “do more with less” but no one is talking about what actually gets removed from our plates. Headcount stays lean, expectations increase, and suddenly efficiency just means one person doing three jobs with a new dashboard. At what point does innovation stop being progress and start being quiet burnout?

It sounds like you've got things assessed pretty accurately. The idea is to generate new ways to cut costs so upper management can crow about that. All leadership ever focuses on is the story they'll tell to Wall Street analysts when they announce quarterly earnings. Being able to say AI was implemented and x number of jobs were eliminated will be a trend for the next few years, you can count on that.

That only lasts so long before those companies have to start rehiring if customer service declines.

There's also a lot of stress that goes into constantly trying to juggle all the things we're supposed to be doing with AI that they insist are easier. But I also spend a lot of time having to fact check and verify that AI just isn't making stuff up.

Right

The old "sale ads" touted computers would free up space and time for employees to be more productive and creative. Turns out it only increased expectations, created more stress and a backdoor to steal information. The caveat is AI is another layer of sold promises that will point to the small "successes" by misdirecting humans from all the failures.

Math class got harder when calculators were introduced. We don’t seem to be seeing the same thing for AI - students are learning how to ask for information rather than knowing it.

Some colleges have started oral exams to see what the students really know.

Hi fishes,

Got an offer from Amazon for Data Engineer-2

Yoe-2

Base - 20LPA
Bonus - 10LPA (over 2 years)
RSU-137 (over 4 yrs) worth 13.5 LPA,standard Amazon vesting

I moved to my current company just a month back but Amazon process was in progress, so leaving in probation. I don't think they considered TC of my current company (17 LPA from 7.5 LPA) as it's been just a month. Any views regarding the offer and TC offered.

Thanks already!

Cheers

Additional Posts in Insurance

Hello everyone ,
I’m currently working in insurance customer service at an agency. I work in the mortgage department assisting w mortgage changes , payments etc. I’ve been thinking about becoming a claims adjuster most likely for property damage . Is it worth it ??? I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge. What are some good companies I maybe should apply for after getting my license?
