She deserves first class next time
It was 30k Amex points that I transferred to emirate and etihad. I don’t know how it transplanted. Was 2 years ago so I can’t remember.
I flew Etihad in summer. I’d do any aisle upfront instead of Row 31 near bathrooms. Mine was 14+ hrs flight too. Food & staff is outstanding. Check in before flight would give you more options lower cost. Had ppl change seats after boarding in plane itself to Economy Plus for $100-200
I would upgrade her to business...
Settle down A7.
SeatGuru.com
I wouldn’t sit near the bathroom, especially on a long flight. As much as Etihad staff does to keep the toilets clean, things do smell. Check SeatGuru before you finalize your decision.
That's not a bad idea. She insists on staying next to me but maybe having a business seat will make her more comfortable being alone. I'll throw my 6'3 self in economy space
Do not do 31. You will be put with mothers+small babies with basinet and it is more disturbance of sleep overall with traffic of others coming for the toilet.
Row 17 or 18? There would be restrooms in the front not far away. Try do the $5k business class upgrade if you can
31. More flexibility and privacy and a bit more leg room (no one can put seat down in front of you)
Dont opt for seats near bathrooms at least now, once you have baby you will have to look for bassinet seats which usually will be next to bathrooms and that time you won't have many choices.
The restrooms in Etihad gets dirty after 6 hours or so. I would sit a away from restroom, but with aisle access. Also, I am not sure about Etihad, but most airlines have same day upgrade at reduced rate ( $1100-$1700), I did this with Qatar.
I would pick an aisle seat near the restrooms.
That's why we liked at row 31 as it's right next to the bathroom. But I can at this being uncomfortable with people constantly opening and closing the bathroom door and waiting in front of us.
31
Seat guru says this about 31,which is my concern.
I wouldn’t do 31 as by the looks of it, the width will be slightly smaller as the tray table and TV will be in the armrest. They both will have to be constantly pulled up and out which can be uncomfortable. 23 might be easier.
That's what I'm thinking. She was thinking being next to the bathroom would be beneficial as she can go whenever she wants. But I think it'll be very frustrating being next to the bathroom. Plus I don't like the tray being in the seat. Was hoping someone can provide feedback on the economy space seats
Select the seats where it asks you to pay 100$ anything that's less than 100$ in economy is not comfortable for pregnant.
A2 when you bid, do you remember if the little over strength wheel was on green? A $1500 bid is showing as weak
I would avoid the trip if possible. Long flight + pregnancy + economy class = Run!
SM1 they have something new called economy space but no premium economy unfortunately
Sorry OP. This makes me thankful for staying home this holiday season. #netjets
Far from the bathroom ( bc of smell, constant noise and the traffic) and if she needs to use a bathroom frequently book your seats in the middle section (DE or EG) so that you don’t have to excuse other people/ be excused by others on their way to a bathroom
I'd do 17 H and K, and if someone ends up taking the middle seat then just switch with them. How far along is your wife? I'd be too cheap to pay $5k for business, and I've flown through 2 pregnancies well into third trimester. If she's only second trimester I don't think it's necessary - might consider it if she's in third trimester.
At 7 weeks along, the smell of restroom could be a trigger. I would steer clear and try to get her an aisle seat. Also remind her to drink alot of water both during and after the flight. Flying can be especially dehydrating during pregnancy.
Are you on the flight right now?
No we're flying in a week
Based on experience, get aisle seat close to bathroom.
