Best bang for your buck resort in Maldives?
Depends on what you value. I personally won’t pay $3000/person for a flight. I’m ok sitting in coach paying much less and spend more on experiences. But if you can redeem points for business ticket i mean why not?
This, exactly! I’d rather have a better hotel room or nicer meals or extra spending money on my trip.
Depends on how long the flight is. My mom’s family is over seas so I am used to flying back of coach most of my life. The one time United had me upgraded (by complete chance) it was magical. Ice cream sundae, comfy pillow, lounge chair, 16 year old me was in heaven.
BUT I’m not sure it would be worth it as an adult, knowing the outrageous price it was. if the flight is under 6 hours, suck it up. BUT If it’s on company money, do it 😂
I don’t mind flying economy during normal business hours or during the day, but I use my points to upgrade to business class if it’s an overnight flight
I always fly coach as I want to spend more once I am in the country. For some reasons, the flight back is always the hardest one but I found the perfect seats to enjoy the flight now so I’m good
To western Europe, not really, especially from East coast USA. But long haul Asia, or mid east or Africa, hell yes it is worth it. You won't go back to economy, which may be a curse depending on budget
I’m 6’1” and hate people all around me. If I fly internationally, I upgrade to premium. 100% worth the extra charge.
If your budget is tight, it’s definitely not necessary for western EU —> eastern US. Eastern US to western EU is an overnight flight; it’s doable in coach but the next day kind of sucks.
Eastern US to Asia? NFW am I sitting in coach.
Depends if you’re trying to earn a status then by all means fly biz or first cash. But I personally fly these through points. :)
What other things? If budget is limited, I would prioritize experiences in the destination over comfort and convenience during the flight. The longest flight I've been in coach is 10 hours (US-EU), and yes, it sucks but it's totally doable. I would rather use those $2-3k extra eating, drinking and exploring the local food/culture.
I've flown to SE Asia a few times for work in business class, that's a combined 25h of travel time. I would not do that trip in coach ever. The difference in price is $5-6k per ticket, that's why I've never been to SE Asia on my own penny.
It totally depends they are really expensive sometimes I feel like it’s not worth it like US-US. BUT if you did it once that would be fine. But do it for an anniversary, or honey moon, or something like that if not economy is fine.
Hi! It depends. If you're going to have a long flight, like more than a 12-hr flight, business class is a good idea. I mean, if you have a little more budget, go for it! Enjoy!!
