They will continue to get paid less, but they will have steady careers relatively speaking . Same applies when you are a partner. All consultants don’t get paid the same either. The rate/margins are high for strategy but may not be the same for tech implementations. Even within tech, it could be higher for AI as opposed to ERP

They catch up when they make partner..
No they do not! Audit partners not paid anywhere near consulting partners, and no audit partners are in leadership. It’s all consulting people!

They don’t catch up before the Partner level, and even then there’s not necessarily parity.
Rule of thumb I saw at B4 is audit salaries tend to be comparable to one level down in consulting (e.g., a consulting Senior makes as much or more than an audit Manager). If the consultant is MBB/T2, audit’s not catching up to that.
