Football has honestly become my escape. After a long week, sitting down and watching a game is the one time my brain actually shuts up. For a few hours it is just the game, the plays, the stress in a good way instead of the everyday kind. It gives me something to look forward to no matter how rough work gets. Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

Junior associate here, should I ask for more money if my firm is about 10-15 percent less hours but about 30 percent less pay? The gap will never be closed to the top pay scale at my firm but when I decided to come to this firm the pay difference was about 15 percent and not 30. One of my direct reports has asked about going part time. They currently manage special reports in a bi-weekly publication, working closely with sales, freelance writers, and an internal designer. Job duties are primarily project management and editing/proofreading. As the first read on articles, they need to have an understanding of the material (business/regulation).
