For anyone who made the transition from a big law transactional practice to in house, did you leverage any connections internally at the firm to find your role? I am considering going in house and have sometimes heard advice to leverage support of the firm to find a role vs going solo/the recruiter route on your search, but am a bit scared to raise any alarms internally that I don’t see being at a my firm as my long term career.

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.
