*Lots of very talented agency creatives beating down the door to get in.
*Recent culture of ruthless layoffs.
*Working with/for people with marketing POVs, as opposed to familiarity with creative advertising.
So it's likely dependent on company and team cultures, but what you describe isn't surprising.
Also, sometimes in-house teams compete directly with outside agencies, who can be viewed more favorably simply for being the cool shiny new thing. Makes in-house overcompensate, act more cutthroat.

Yes. I’ve seen it a lot. I believe it’s less competitive so they compete with each other. Everyone wants the big projects so they throw one another under the bus and fall on their swords unnecessarily. I pray all teams can come to the realization that we are all focused on the same goal and for the same company. We all get paid at the same time. Relax.
Could be a tech thing honestly. Feel like tech culture can somewhat attract/manifest into hustle culture with regards to the employees.
I’d be curious if you’d see that in a retailer, food, pharma, etc client side. My guess is less so.
