These sound like great ideas. Might need to remember these for next year
I think saying it personally and buying lunch for the whole staff are most powerful and effective.
As a manager, this is something I've been way more intentional about this year. I really want to show my team that I appreciate them.
Thank you for the reminder to keep giving people their flowers while they can smell them. This goes for outside the office as well.
I love the idea of giving out encouragement cards highlighting an employee's strengths. I wish we do more of this everywhere. For an employee, this means everything.
I've been considering it because the energy is BAD around here at the moment. Everyone is feeling tired, stresded and overworked. My hands are tied around how much I can really do from a $$ perspective but these are good suggestions. Thanks very much!
I make a conscious effort to say thank you out loud and in public to team members. I try to buy food (e.g., doughnuts, pizza) on occasion. However, I think my team still wants “more” from the management team but we can’t quite put our finger on it.
Probably more money.
You can buy all the meals you want. It doesn't make up for the team getting sub par raises.
Is that out of your control - probably. But we just want to feel advocated for when deserved.
Kind words can go so far. You never know just who needs it. I always make sure to thank everyone for every little thing because I never heard enough of it when I was younger. Always tell people you appreciate them.
I just recently bought lunch for my teammates. I always say thank you to someone whenever I have to. And always want to spread positivity that's why I am always encouraging everyone to keep working not for ourselves but for our families and loved ones.
