Guys , whoever is interviewing and planning to join , do ask project availablity on priority basis before you take decision. On Java front looks like there is some project issue due to recent slowdown in market. My offer was not revised even after agreement with recruiter because of this.

Try to find better paying jobs.
We’re trying but in the meantime, we have the option of taking on extra work
We're both pursuing extra work. It was initially my idea and I would have been fine being the only one taking on more, but my wife wouldn't hear anything of it. We've both started freelancing to bring in extra money. It's not the most consistent source of income, but it's definitely helped alleviate some financial pressure.
That’s also an option. 2 extra incomes is better than 1!
The man should always want to lead his woman whether it’s in the bedroom or in finances
Thanks
My boyfriend took on a 2nd job and then I was bored so I also got a 2nd job lol his was seasonal so it’s over now but I still instacart every now and then when I want to splurge on something extra
Makes sense
Depends on if you have kids or other responsibilities. We have a baby, so my husband has taken it on himself to get an additional gig to bring home a little more so I can be with the baby. I think if you don't have kids and you both have standard working hours, you could perhaps arrange someone to take on another job and the other partner can do more housework/cooking to make it manageable for both
Oh I like that idea!
Whoever has more free time/flexibility
We have similar workloads. It’s prob gonna be whoever can find the extra gig first
To bad you couldn't alternate or find something to do together.
That would be amazing
It depends. My husband is salary. Usually makes more money and more stable. I work as an LVN. I have the ability to do work my job and do some as needed shifts. We usually do that when we have some vacations or something that we want to do I wouldn't make it a routine thing
Life is to short to always making it about work
I agree but having extra money helps me enjoy life too
The Man every time
That’s a thought
Depends on your situation. If you have kids then having one parent stay home will save you a ton on daycare and greatly help in your child's development. Which parent that is will depend on nurturing levels of each person, but in my experience it is usually the mother.
I think you can get creative for income sources. For extra income, look beyond an office job to lifestyle jobs. Photographer, Uber driver, Party Rentals, Wedding DJ, home based baking, Etsy craft business. Hopefully this side hustle work aligns with some interest or hobby. Then the outside work hours don't feel as heavy. You could even find a side hustle you can work together.
Also, if you haven't read a personal finance book like Dave Ramsey's Extreme Money Makeover, you should. The book encourages you to have an emergency fund, get out of debt and build up a 6 month reserve. You might find it easy to get by if you are not weighed down with debt.
