Off topic: I am stuck in a service based company for last 4 years in a shitty project. The work I do can be done by a 12th grader. Now i want to move out by learning something new & changing my domain. But the thing is I am not able to study because I am stuck in a comfort zone and learning new thing gives me bad anxiety. It feels like I will never learn & be forever stuck here. Pls help on how to come out of comfort zone, learn things and apply for the job. Tata Consultancy Infosys Wipro

Bain & Company Atlanta people! I’m in the process of applying for MBA programs and wanted to ask what recruiting is like for MBB from Emorys program? Is there a reasonable shot at getting into the Atlanta office from Emory, or are those openings primarily filled by other schools (Duke, UVA, etc.)

It’s going to be a difficult switch for sure. SA’s do project management and the engagement will succeed or fail on you. Most SA’s I know are spread thin across multiple different engagements but at least they’ve had 2yrs to get adjusted the the pace and expectations of the firm. I really think ppl coming from industry don’t understand what they are getting themselves into. But…it can be done I guess!
Really hope you have a good Manager/Director and decent competent associates that could help make your transition a bit easier. Lol
Thanks for your prospective. Lol How would you advise an industry person to become ready for that transition ? Specially if they will start in a month 😅
You will receive good training and have a good six months at least before they expect more. It should be fine! Let me know if you are interested in a referral to Deloitte!
That’d be much appreciated. Please direct message me if you can. I’m do not have access to since my account is new. Thanks
