OP - wow so when a firm offers people a landing pad so everyone has job security, you respond by being too good for that job?
So basically you want a really competitive interesting job that also has zero attrition
You really seem to have a terrible attitude.
You are in for a very very rude awakening. In life. I came from industry and the same principles apply there. If they are not up and out then you are just a name on a spread sheet. I was a top performer in industry and when times got hard I got cut just like everyone else. 1700 people got hit at once. You have two choices make you own or move to a hippy commune .
If this bothers you, you're in the wrong industry.
Omg chill Op
@OP seriously? Consulting is 100% wrong for you if you feel this way. You are saying some very not nice things about your colleagues. Grow up.
Unless you are MBB its not much of a thing anymore.
I find it really disgusting and it makes more sense now why some of my coworker's are so desperate, thirsty and unethical
This is a comical over reaction and display of righteous indignation
Accenture reinstated it
Also had a great performance but don't plan to submit goals and started looking immediately for a sane company not run by sociopaths
There is a high turn over for a reason it's a system designed to extract the most productivity out of individuals at their peak so the client is willing to pay the high cost. Its@accomplished by using every short term tactic (fear, pitting people against each other, perceived status, etc). When it comes down to it the skill sets and salaries in most cases are the same as Industry. Firms just stay slightly ahead of the curve and use short term tactics to grind through people with the incentive that you may have the opportunity to be one of the folks actually collecting the real rewards
In OP’s defense, I get mixed signals on PwC’s approach all the time and still don’t know because there is the “official” and the culture in practice.
My philosophy is if I get kicked out, whatever I move on and find somewhere else to kick ass
How are you just finding out about this? Instead of whining, I may be more concerned about what other basic, functional processes I’m unaware despite working in this domain for a year.
@Op go move to industry and be bitter there
Beta
Grow up OP. Life isn't all fun and games. So good work and you'll be recognized and promoted. It's not that hard.
@Op so bitter, you can't be fun to work with...
I left EY mainly because of the LACK of up-or-out. Too many underperforming S6's and M8's.
@Op then leave, no one is making you stay. Your negative attitude just hurts your team and makes you unhappy. Baiiii
Come over to Accenture! We’re up or over in our consulting practice. (They shift you into Technology where you can do similar work but move up the scale at your own pace.)
