Funny, but I've found that for me personally, there is, in fact, a ton of crying. How about y'all?

The job hunt has been an emotional minefield for me. Happiness, sadness, grief, bliss. It’s hard! The saying “You have to laugh or you’d cry” has been a go-to.

Just wait until you retire and try to stay productive and find a decent paying job. It TOTALLY sucks especially with online applications being sorted (either tossed or moved forward by AI) I have been in management all my life, did interviews for decades but at least it was face to face.

There is a lot of tears for sure

I can't say there's been a lot of literal tears, but there's certainly been a roller coaster of emotions. I'll get to the point where some little thing can really change my mood suddenly. I'm at the point where the routine rejection letters don't crush me, but sometimes just the overall frustration can really bring me down.

I agree with that about the overall frustration. At least it helps to know we’re not alone in these experiences.

I’ve almost found I’ve moved beyond that stage haha, I’ve come to realize that in this kind of employers market, unexpected things can happen so until an offer is given I try not to get any strong emotions.

When a sales team fails to close a lead, the manager's response is never, "Don't worry, it's the customer." The directive is always, "Analyze the loss, figure out why you failed to connect, and determine what improvements you can make to your proposal next time."
This commitment to continuous improvement is crucial for success. However, we often abandon this mindset in job hunting. Instead of urging job seekers to refine their approach, the common advice is, "It's okay, it's not you—it's the employer." To find success, job seekers must adopt the sales manager's mentality: they need to identify areas for self-improvement and refine their professional offering.

So I just started a new job in sales (B2B specifically). All my life I’ve been in blue collar jobs, military, then construction work ect. I don’t have much money saved to get myself my own business cards as I’m sure they are important to have, I’ve got all the info that I need to go out and start selling. I guess what I’m looking for is just tips on how you guys were successful walking into a whole new arena if that makes sense?

Anyone else feel the same or am I just overreacting?

What are some good modern/post-pandemic personal finance books you can recommend?

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!
