Going in house is the move, right?
Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/
What agency is doing the new Twizzler ads?

Few things. I’ve worked at Google. I read this was done ‘in house’ - this is nothing new, they often outsource to agency partners but also have a ton of broadcast that comes from internal. A lot of that work is great. But they say it ‘tested well’. This shocks me as Google tends to keep a lock on their work. Makes me think the ‘testing’ means they just showed it around internally. I think this is a case of Google being so stuck in their bubble they didn’t see the broader implications and how it would make people feel.

Worked there too. I’m with you and willing to bet that this is no doubt exactly who their “focus group” was.
I like the new ad where the little girl is begging her parents for a kitten, and then the parents say "we have something even better!" and they give her AI and she is so, so happy.
This Al.

"While the ad tested well before airing..."
Maybe take a hint and re-evaluate how you're testing these ads, y'all.

Would argue it didn’t test well, as the ultimate test it failed
I hope so too.
Tech companies are racing one another to create a future people don’t want.
I’m thankful enough people saw through the hopeful, human tone of the ad and saw the darker side of this unnecessary use of AI.

You don't have to be a wordsmith to express your love. Phoning it in isn't "helping them express their feelings", it's sidestepping the act of thought that comes with articulating yourself in any form of communication.
It's remarkably easy to convince yourself that what ChatGPT spits out is what you intended to say, but much of the time, people haven't thought at all about what they actually want to say before asking ChatGPT to spit out a listicle for them.

I used AI for my mom’s wake. Are you saying that’s somehow wrong?
Yeah this ad was off. I think a.i is a really useful tool and nothing to be afraid of, but this ad did it's best to make me think otherwise.

Few are actually afraid of it, most of us are just exhausted and irritated by it at this point. And the ride has barely begun.

But it tested well is the last refuge of every hack.
Too many sensitive netizens. I thought the ad was fine. More education about ai needs to be done. Cause the outrage is deeply hidden in miseducation

CD4 it’s not about you not being sensible. Kinda opposite actually. Parents can be competitive about their parenting and the things they’ll do for their kids so an ad with someone getting away with doing this small thing for someone they are supposed to love above all things triggers this judgmental side of parenting.
If this was done slightly differently like the parent forgot to write something and it was saved just in time because AI it could be different because every parent can also relate to being tired and messing up with their kid sometimes and it is a horrible feeling.
This one made the parent sound lazy.

I thought it was a dope ad. Idk what the issue is.
That’s gonna keep me up at night 😢

Which one
The article that says they’re pulling it. Not challenging here, just wanting to read more.
Would have been better if the girl wanted to write a fan letter to the team behind the terrible Quilted Northern ads and AI told her she has bad taste in ads but would begrudgingly help her anyway.
