How much does everyone pay for a 1-hour therapy appointment with a counselor? I was paying a $20 copay until insurance changed and I got a $300 bill for the same appointment.

Anyone have to do a case study through the interview process?? I just got one and I feel dumb as hell because I honestly can’t figure it out even though it seems simple... what resources did you use?

I had a background check when I was hired years ago. I told my supervisor at the time that it would not have great results. We have had a lot of management turnover since then. I'm curious if anyone has access to the records now? Does anyone know if that info is kept in my HR file somewhere? Also who is able to view it?

Hi Designers,
Been working as an Assistant Technician for 3 years (2 years excluding pandemic) pay is £21k now £22 adjusted for inflation. I will be completing my Part 1 in architecture but also have a degree in Technology, should I find a different company after graduation or take roles offering £30-45k as an Architectural Technologist/Technician.

Anyone got any strong leads regarding the midterm promotions in January like last year? Please tell if you got strong leads.

Planning to leave but if promotion happens in January, can stay for a longer period.

Interviewing at INTOUCH GROUP, LLC and want the real scoop on work/life balance. Any clever suggestions for sussing out real answers?

In my experience, employers are “selling” me the job and will say anything until I sign on the dotted line. There’s got to be a few good questions to reveal reality.

How is the leave structure looks in Kyndryl?

What is the average base pay for a sales representative in the Michigan market? Account Executive, net new seller, hunter role, etc. I’m getting several LinkedIn messages for bases of 100k plus. I’m currently making 80 and wondering if that is too low?

Is it unusual to have a partner midway through a small engagement hand over his partner responsibilities to a Sn Mng (not on the engagement) and force the existing Sn Mng to report to them?

What is the base pay for SM in TAX, in Texas? Any clue would be appreciated!

I have a new manager working with me who is surprisingly not great at the role. We’re in industry and she’s worked at the company for a long time but in a different capacity. (Cont)

How was your tax season?

I’m a new senior manager in tax. Just got promoted this year. How do I know that I’m able to get to partner vs the firm seeing me as a sm only? What can I do to differentiate and also how do I prevent being overworked? I’m scared I would say I’m interested in partner, but then the firm seeing me as a workhorse and not promoting me. I feel like I want to spend my first year becoming more tax technical and building up my management skills. Then consider asking my coach about partner potential.

If anyone is interested in a referral to EY, I can help.

Anyone have experience between choosing between an Industry position or making the final push (manager/SM level) for partner? How did you finally decide to go one way or the other and do you have any regrets?

I think I want to try someone new but am having a bit of paralysis in making the move knowing the income/ partner lifestyle that I could be passing up…

Open to any thoughts and advice.

Is this the main sm bowl, just seems a bit dead compared to Mgr bowl

Considering a change from audit (SM) to an advisory role - looking at a Director position within Strategy, Finance and Accounting M&A. [Insert typical “should I make the jump” question here]. I’m 3+ years to audit partner and weighing options and exhausted by omnipresent inspection risk and how this impacts day to day (and presume it will continue to get worse). Considering the advisory role 1) job security, 2) exit ops, 3) partnership ops. Anyone recently make a similar jump and could share?

What is the expected change in compensation over a 10 yr period for Managing Directors in Business or Tech Consulting? Is their salary in line with a CIO or SVP in IT?

I have hit my wall. I cannot do public accounting any longer. I cannot deal with the constant focus on compliance, billable hour and the general unproductive behaviors/mindsets. I remember a day when we were here to help clients. Now I just feel like we are here to bill clients. I want to go help someone build something.
Now I just need to figure out how a director with a tax background can have transferable skills to something else...

I am looking for any referrals in audit/ advisory firms. I have worked in 3 of the big four audit firms and currently working in Canada in the financial services industry (head office in Boston).
I have 15 years experience in the financial services industry and worked in various countries.
Looking to move to USA. I am Canadian citizen and holds CIA (USA), CPA Canada, ACCA UK.

Got an offer I am thinking of accepting and waiting for the official letter. Sooooo checked out mentally and cannot wait to break the news to the firm. I am so over it (cont.)

Has anyone invested in a franchise? Is it worth the time as a side gig potentially turning into a path for business ownership?

If you were going to be a partner in a national non-big 4 firm, which one would you pick and why?

Any one make a move from fund admin after big 4 assurance and then was able to make a pivot to a PE fund accounting team? I am considering moving to a fund admin now. Have 9+ years of big four experience. Worried that I can get stuck in fund admin. But I have interviewed at several big name pe shops and make a few rounds on interviews but then get the same feedback that they are worried about my lack of operational experience.

What are the good exits for Senior Managers? I keep hearing how people leave for 2x their salary.

What kinds of opportunities are there for senior managers trying to get out of public accounting? Going from mid sized firm to industry. Been through one too many busy seasons. I’m done!
