Had a chat with an HR rep yesterday and mentioned that I'm actively interviewing around. They promised to provide feedback today/Monday, to move fast, and to have the process move within a timeframe of about two weeks. Also, the recruiter I work with called to make sure I don't need visa sponsorship 30 mins after the interview.

Anyways, that's the first time I heard the figure of "fast" get specific. I'm guessing this means interest?

Thinking having a 24’ HD and a 28’ 4K monitor setup. Is 4K for excel not necessary? How about 28’ monitors?

Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers? I have a counter offer from my current company and on-site interviews scheduled for end of July with google and Amazon, but I’d prefer to go with the smaller local company if I can negotiate the salary (from offer letter) up another 5% or so.

I left Deloitte audit after 4 years and have been at The Siegfried Group for the last 7. Both experiences have been great, and both have their pros/cons, but I don't regret the move even a little! Ask me anything, happy to share the good/bad/ugly!

I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?

Had a first round interview scheduled for a large CPG brand. My interviewer never called me, and I emailed following up to confirm the call. It’s been over a day and no response. What is going on with recruiters? I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, but not even an email back saying “something came up” or “we’ve moved on” ? I’ve been ghosted after every final interview during my recent job search, but never had I been ghosted before even having the first call??
