Had a first rounder with a fund today, overall went well but did some of my own diligence and associate turnover seems extremely high. Want to back out of the process without upsetting the headhunter. Any thoughts on how to approach this?

I am an associate at a UMM and my employment contract has a 4 month non compete (yes, even for associates) but I am thinking of lateraling. What are the implications of breaking a non compete?
