I see both sides. Sometimes the last job was so bad you can’t help talk bad about it, but there definitely is a time and place for it. Probably not best to trash talk in an interview.

Oh for sure. I genuinely felt bad for some things they were saying if true but they took it a little too far.

Yikes
A few pointers here. Ask your manager if you could see a deck that is great. Next, details matter. Make sure you doublecheck every number and check grammar. Some people use periods; others do not. Be consistent throughout the deck. Finally, every slide should have a purpose. I hope this is helpful to you.
I've run into people like that, and it does send an odd signal. It indicates a lack of self-control and self-awareness. I can remember instances where what someone was saying was probably entirely true, and they may have been justified in their resentments. That level of indiscretion still indicated that the person might be a problem to work with.

Lack of self control/awareness is a really good way to put it. It’s not that we’re never allowed to dislike a prior employer, but it’s definitely in bad taste to trash them to your next place of work.
It’s a golden rule: never talk ill of your past employer. It could all be true, but it just looks bad for you. Always have to be positive and look to the future. I’ve worked with somebody like that and wouldn’t you know they did the same thing while working there, very negative attitude.
Yes, and it weighs everyone down so much. I’m not happy-go-lucky every day, but I’m also not actively searching for something to be miserable about either.
