Gotten a few of those "we want to profile you" inbounds. All scams
It’s as long established company so I wouldn’t call it a scam, but there tends to be adverse selection in these pay-to-play networks when real experts can establish their reputation many other ways.
Makes sense. I’ve never considered them all that seriously, so I haven’t heard them pitch it. I do also get the sense there used to be more legitimate value in this kind of service and network, before the internet. And the service they offer may not be much different from what it always was. But it’s just not valuable anymore. In order to sell something without value, I guess you do have to be deceptive in some way.
It’s right up there with home extended warranties in terms of non-value

Oh gawd. I've seen at least two people post on LinkedIn this week about "what an honor" it is to be Selected.
Don't pay
It’s the precursor to Forbes lists or councils. It’s all pay to play and usually your firm would pay it to get exposure and market your collective brand. All the industry rankings are like this too.
Such a scam.

Have never been interviewed, have never paid money it’s just a marketing scheme
I’m in 30 years worth of them, have never interviewed and never given them a dime
