Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?
Are there any solid recruiters in SF?
Hello All, I have been selected in the interview at NTT DATA and also submitted documents as requested by Recruiting HR. However , it's been a 10 days after docs submission but haven't received any call from HR for salary negotiation. On email follow up with HR, he said he is on it and will come back to me soon for further process. Any views.NTT DATA

You cant escape it, there is no utopia —-you can only build up your tolerance, resistance, and develop a healthy mindset to counter toxic people, co-workers, and organizations. Once you start giving in, it all goes downhill from there.
Every workplace has certain toxic elements, but I always use one question when interviewing and it’s very telling. “What’s your company culture?” The answer is very telling. If they can’t think of it- they don’t have one and you should run. Toxic toxic toxic. If they do answer, ask everyone you interview with and you should get consistent answers. If you get consistent answers and like their answer- green flag. It wasn’t perfect, but it’s a healthier environment than most.
You can also ask how long the ppl you interview with have been in their role and how long your predecessor was in their role.
Have you spoken with several people from the perspective employer or only with the recruiter and hiring manager?
If you interview with a panel, it demonstrates more transparency and diversity of thought. These are attributes of a healthy culture. If not, you might ask to speak with other team members.
Also, if there is an opportunity to meet over lunch for more conversation, sometimes that can be very revealing.
Thank you all so much for your fed back. I have seen things I thought were pretty dangerous and swept under the carpet. I would not be a customer there.( prior work ) Hospitals can be scary places ! I'm sure the public can be unaware . Health care reform is needed also
