Has anyone here left a major market for a smaller market? I’m considering leaving Washington, DC Big Law for a boutique in Richmond, VA. I’ll be closer to my in laws (I love them) and I’m familiar with the boutique firm. But I’m sad about leaving DC. I live in a nice neighborhood and wanted to raise my kids here, but I’m getting iced out at my firm and having a hard time getting interviews at other firms. Would also love to hear people’s thoughts about life in Richmond!

I have been a phlebotomist for the last three and a half years with quest. I have over 20 years of experience. And have been trying to transfer to a different state. I believe that I am being blocked from my transfer even though my manager approves it on paper. Is there any way I can find this out. If I can't successfully transfer I may have to look for work outside of my current employer.

I was on a partner/manager call today and they were discussing the “high” turnover at the senior and experienced associate level. What was shocking is that while ours is about double normal, evidently we are 3 out of 4 in turnover meaning 2 of the Big 4 are even higher.
