I think they switched it to by calendar year instead of by renewal year.
It’s always been based on calendar year. They’re also applying this reimbursement for additional categories like groceries now, so you may have already used the full amount in January.

It’s by calendar year. You have a month to downgrade or cancel and they won’t claw back what you used for this year.
It depends on when you signed up for the card. Early ones were by calendar year. More recent applications were by renewal year.

They charge the fee a little earlier in the month than the actual annual reset.
I think my date is somewhere around the 20th, but the annual fee always shows up as a transaction on the 1st of the month.
