If you go on your birthday you get free admission
I’ll start by saying this - back in 2023, the aquarium launched resident passes which was the same price as general admissions except you can go to the aquarium as much as you’d like (except for blackout dates). Back then prices were only around/ just shy of 50 bucks.
I got my hands on a resident pass and ended up going to the aquarium 4x that year. And while the exhibits didn’t change, it was still a very fun experience each time. And plus, the sea lion and dolphin shows are included. Now if you can avoid going during the peak hours on the weekend, then you can browse around at your own pace without chaos around you.
Resident passes were back again this year for 65 bucks a pop. For the past 2 years, they started selling those at the beginning of the year for a limited time and once sold out, you couldn’t get them anymore. Not sure about this year but last year they did open up the sale of resident passes again at random times of the year.
With that being said, is $40 worth the experience? YMMV, but I’d generally say yes. But definitely try to go maybe on a week day or when the aquarium first opens on the weekend. Value wise - the resident pass is the way to go. Hopefully they’ll continue offering them in the future.
I grew up going to the Georgia Aquarium so now I’m usually disappointed when I visit others. As a kid I had no idea they were setting the bar so high.
Well, if you time it right, tickets are only $40 plus fees, but I would say, if can afford it, the typical $65 and fees are not too bad considering everyone the aquarium has to offer. https://www.georgiaaquarium.org/pricing/ if you think you would want to visit the aquarium more than one, then you might want to check out the membership https://www.georgiaaquarium.org/membership/
Pro
If someone cannot afford something for $65 they also cannot afford it for $40.

The Georgia Aquarium is hands down one of the best, if not the best one, in the world
