Yes. It’s made my view of folks on the left more negative ;)

I'm genuinely curious how you arrived at that ac1. If you replace right and left in your post it would also be true

I don’t take statements/claims/social media at face value anymore. I try to verify what I hear with something being reported by a legit news site. I believe what people say less and less

What I've learned in the last 10 years is there is no more dialogue any more on politics. Most of the groups that want unlimited tolerance of their views have little to no tolerance of the opposing view. And this is true of both ends of the spectrum.

I’ll admit to being shocked that people in our profession fall into these polarizing categories (both ways) and further that there aren’t more “righties” merely just given the general profession here. That said there have been some very well stated positions that have allowed me to expand my thinking. Otherwise, it is entertaining to watch

No. Solidified my existing views and made me more energized to oppose the other side. Because that’s what it is now and I don’t see how we get back to statesmanship from here.

FBI statistics show that black men (6.5% of population) make up something like 52% of all homicides and an even larger percentage of all violent crime. Wouldn’t it be logic to say that blacks are in the “line of fire’ disproportionately more than any other race? Facts aren’t racist.

A very small portion of people on the right are neo-nazi. A much smaller portion than those on the left that want Trump dead or the white race to die off.

You think Hilary or Bernie wouldn’t jack up the deficit even more? Nice try

Don’t come into this country illegally and you wouldn’t be lawfully detained. Simple.

Ten years ago if you were a man that thought you were a woman, that was considered a form of a mental disorder. Now they’re up for woman of the year...

I’m not for or against gay marriage, but I don’t need it rammed down my throat every which way I turn.

If sexual assault victims have hard evidence, I’ll support claims unanimously. But if you wait for the person to assault you to get even more wealthy or more in the public eye or wait 40 years, it’s a little suspect don’t you think?

Don’t you think we help poor people enough? Nothing is free in this world. To give poor people cash, food stamps, and healthcare, you have to have someone pay for that. The 1% pay 90% of all taxes, remember that.

Come to America legally and support yourself and I’ll welcome you with open arms.

D1 I was surprised by the amount of "lefties" here also but then thinking about it generally the younger someone is the more likely they are to lean left and the younger people in PA are probably more likely to be using this App.

In many ways it has pushed my views farther to the left. I used to vote mixed between democrat, republicans, and independents. But conversations and views of people both here and on other forums have made me realize that the 'Right' has no interest in compromise, tolerate my existence or my views, and much less care for the well being of all the people are not part of their accepted demographics, political party, or religion.

Simple:

1) Statistics show clearly that police brutality affects black people primarily. The right does not care, opposes any sort measures designed to alleviate the problem, and actively supports said abuses.

2) The right actively support neo-nazi and racist movements. Neo-nazi being called "very fine people"

3) While I certainly support taking on deficits to push the economy in some necessary cases, the right has supported expanding the deficit by an insane 5.5 trillion over ten years in order to put more money on wealthy and ultra wealthy pockets. The right actively opposes any measures designed to support the poor like ACA and Social Security.

4) The right supports modern day internment camps, and human rights abuses. Just look at what its being done since May of this year when they decided to start separating children from immigrants, and asylum seekers. Last I checked there were hundreds of children unaccounted for after said separation.

5) The right supports the government telling you what you can and cannot do with your own body (so much for limiting government overreach). I am talking about recreational drugs as well as medical issues such as trans people, as well as abortion.

6) The right supports limiting rights to a select group of people. I.e. Allowing people to be fired simply because they are gay. Opposing gay marriage as well as opposing the right to serve in the military to LGBTQ people to the bitter end.

7) The right supports religious freedom so long as it applies only to Christianity. If they applied the same protections to all religions and beliefs I'd be ok. But I guarantee you I will never see conservatives pushing anything forward to ensure the rights of muslims are respected

8) The right has zero problems with sexual assault. As the world has been moving forward sexual assault survivors have stared to come forward with accusations. When these have impacted the Democratic party, they have asked for their resignation (i.e. Al Franken, Ellison will probably be the next in line if accusations are true). On the flip side, the right openly supports those abusers (Trump, Roy Moore, potentially Kavanaugh) and actively target and attack the victims even before any investigation has been completed (Ford, Moore's victims)

9) The right is against measures like the ACA because is too expensive among other things. But they are a-ok taking much more expensive tax breaks for the wealthy (1.7 trillion over 10 years for ACA vs 5.5 trillion for the Trump tax cuts). Again if it helps the poor, its a no-go.

10) And of course the classic one "immigrants are rapist, murderers and some assume are good people" never mind the separate time the right named them as animals or called their countries shit-holes. Of course disregarding the fact that data clearly shows that immigrant communities have a much lower likelihood of committing crimes.

11) One last one: Look at Garland and Kavanaugh. Garland was a pretty conservative judge for a "liberal". Most liberal groups hated him. He was put forward as an attempt to compromise. The right-wing refused to even give him a hearing. And now they are crying about the Kavanaugh resistance even though allegations keep popping up that he is basically another abuser.

I could go on and on. But the worst part is the face of all this, right-wing people will make excuses that wouldn't even fool a kid, treating people as if they were stupid; or even worse many of them will not care because it doesn't affect them and they actively profit from the misery of those who are not part of their religion, their demographics, or political party.

Do I work at a toxic workplace?

We had a team touchbase where we as a group were asked our concerns regarding year end. I raised my concerns about staffing/expectations (the team is 75% new) since last year was demanding with us being up to 1 AM the day before deadline.

My director was on the call but not my VP. My VP reached out today and said he doesn’t appreciate hearing such comments on the grapevine but I was confused b/c all i did was answer the question I was asked.
