I’m still on birth control but my doc said after egg retrieval (assuming we get a strong embryo), I’d get off of birth control and on lupron for two months before transfer. The reason I’m not getting off of birth control now is because it manages my pain.

Got so comfortable with being on my own that I really think I will die alone.

Can anyone offer advice for helping with adderall side effects? I was diagnosed a few months ago and I am new to medication. I have been taking 20 mg xr in the morning but have a terrible crash around 2/3pm each day where I just get very very tired. Doctor recommended 10mg ir mid day to combat but I still experience pretty severe fatigue as a side effect. Just wondering if anyone has found any natural strategies to cope or mitigate. Thanks!

Hey so like - newfound reason for my procrastination since I got on Ritalin - a tendency towards "putting things off so I can enjoy the hyperfocus later". So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. I finally broke down and went back on HRT last week. I have been taking gabapentin for a nerve injury which I’ve learned helps hot flashes. I can’t tell a significant difference yet aside from maybe getting a little better sleep. I saw a new doctor (male) to get my prescription refilled and he seems to have a different philosophy than my last doctor (female). Does Next Gen issue a formal report for PGS testing results? I had my embryos tested and my clinic just told me which were normal and abnormal. No other info on embryos ratings, etc. they could have not even sent it in for all I know!
Also, how involved are you REs? I’ve been through 2 retrievals now, but feel kinda in the dark still on a lot of things. Some of the nurses are hit or miss and if I want to talk to my doctor I have to schedule a consultation and its typically a 2 week wait.

Is genetic carrier screening prior to starting an ivf cycle necessary? I tested and found some disorders. Now my RE won’t start my cycle until my partner is tested. They are saying they will have to do special PGT tests if we are carriers of the same disorder. I am confused. I thought this type of testing was optional and usually recommended if you are using a donor. My guess is that they are booked and pushing me to the Jan cycle. Thoughts?

Stupid Question- We have been thinking for IVF and trying to understand with this process, is there any difference in the health and life of the child as compared to a child born without IVF. I did ask this with our doctor and he said casually its all same. This is not to question any doctor but just to really understand what is going to be different with the kid. This is not very old technology and not much studies as well.

Any women here with lean PCOS? I do not ovulate on my own (metformin regulated my periods but I still don’t ovulate) and am moving from three cycles of Clomid/IUI to IVF soon. No other issues have been found other than my PCOS (HSG shows tubes open). Curious about your experiences. And the reason I mentioned lean PCOS is because it seems for others with PCOS part of the fertility path is diet/exercise/weight loss but I am already very tiny.

Trying to have faith but my recent cycle netted 16 eggs, 8 fertilized and only 2 made it to day 5 for testing. There were 3 others that just didn’t mature. This is my third cycle and I’ve been pretty positive up until today. It’s especially hard to get this news in the middle of a work day.
