Is saving over rated? Starting to think my general strategy/approach to savings. I recently posed a question about why people don’t retire earlier after seeing maxing out your tax accounts (~30K with match) gives you ~70k in today’s dollars (not 70k in 2060 dollars). I left EY cyber consulting 2 months ago for a boutique consulting firm. I have realized it was a bad move and now want fo go back. If I reach out to my partner/leadership and start the process , I have couple of questions : 1. There was not much difference between my new pay and what EY would pay after October . Should I ask for hike on that pay ? 2. Since cyber is still hot , should I ask for joining bonus . I wonder if they will pay since I want to go back.
