Have an offer in hand in my market of choice, going to ask my firm if they will formally let me transfer to their NYO, and if not, I plan to put my notice in. Have a very long commute right now and I look forward to being able to bike to work! I don’t think this firm I am at will accommodate, but will try nonetheless!

You want to work in NYC and you think the firm will not let you? Most firms want more of a NY presence assuming you are not asking for more money to work there.

That’s right, I want to work in NYC but the firm may not let me. If that’s the case, I’m out.

What is this a Proskauer Newark office situation or something ?

Do what you think you really want. Good thing is either way you are not losing something. By the way, why do you think they wil not allow you to work in their NYO?

I was assigned to a CT office at hiring, but there really is no reason to stay

Sounds like you have two really great scenarios though. Congrats on the offer. I am sure it will all shake out how it should

Hello, I have been with the same company for 17 years. I am a supervisor for a laboratory in patient services. I worked my way up and currently have no degrees. Has anyone been able to work their way up in a company and then find a similar job with another company? I’m nervous that I’m stuck based on the fact that I don’t have a degree.

Hey everyone! I recently sold my business and decided to transition to SAAS sales world. I’m actually surprised I’m getting a hard time from companies about being hired considering I funded, scaled, and sold my business of 6 years. Anyway I’m ideally looking for an AE role, but after couple of months of applying and getting nowhere I’m also open for an SDR role. Anyone that can refer me I’d be super grateful, thank you!

I’m a first year associate (almost second year). I work at a national firm and I’m not a litigator. When I started with the firm, I was told I could work out of any office. Long story short, I regret choosing the office that I chose. I’d like to transfer to another office - is that a difficult ask? I’m licensed in the state I’d like to transfer to. I don’t know how to make this request.

I have been at my current firm for about 1.5 years, and in that entire time the partner in my group hasn't been out of the office a single time. Is that normal?
