The 24 hour acceptance requirement would be a red flag for me. They’re trying to manipulate you into accepting right away. That could be indicative of larger problems.
Most everywhere I’ve gotten at least a few days (usually a business week).
Agree, that was the biggest thing that put me off about this. I understand them trying to add a timeframe to it, but if they want me then they should at least give me 2-3 business days, but usually a business week. Just kind of feels fishy.
That equity is very very low for a 20 person startup. I would not take it. Atleast .0-.1% if ur doing something important

That is fairly high equity
Take all 150k as base comp and if they screw you over get a new job somewhere else and use that 150k base comp to leverage more money
Pump ‘em and dump ‘em

I would want want as much as possible to be the base comp in a super variable start up. I wouldn’t take it… a 20 person company sounds like a nightmare 😬
I took an offer to a friend’s 5 person company. Terrible decision. They did not know what they were doing. We are no longer friends either..
+1 on the sketchy 1 day offer, check up on the founders and their reputation, and their VC backers. Is variable paid in equity? Otherwise why would you want variable? If so, obviously depending on your situation but I would go higher variable (equity) - why else would you do start up but take (calculated) risks?
Thanks all. Yeah I just can't stomach the 1 day offer timeline. If they're so worried about losing this other candidate they should just go with them to begin with. I think I'm out.
