Tsa pre has no correlation to status
Also any business select ticket gets you access to those lines
Buy early bird check in. That will get you an earlier boarding spot and when I have early bird I’ve never had an issue getting an aisle seat
Southwest is one of the more generous airlines for passengers without status. Two checked bags are always free, and if you check in exactly 24 hours ahead (48 hours ahead if you buy Early Bird boarding), you're almost guaranteed an aisle or window seat in the middle of the cabin (in front of the wing for Early Bird). Southwest's boarding process gets some hate, but I think it's a lot more orderly than a legacy airline calling group 3 and getting groups 4 through 27 mobbing around the podium.
TSA Pre depends more on whether you're in the program rather than airline status. I'm a nobody on every single airline, but I have TSA Pre. I always get TSA Pre whenever I fly from a US airport.
Comfort wise, Southwest is right in the middle of the pack. They're better than the worst regional jets or American A319s, but probably not as awesome as your favorite. Everything is economy seating with adequate legroom, except for the exit row seats (and bulkhead seats, kind of sort of). No power plugs onboard, so charge everything before you fly and plan to stream if you want their in-flight entertainment. For free, I'd absolutely fly them. At market price, I'd seriously think about it.
Just check in around 24hrs before your flight and you will at least get in boarding group A or B which basically guarantees a window or aisle seat. I also dont get the TSA pre-check comment. If you have TSA pre-check then you can use the pre-check lane.
Check in 24 hours prior to your flight and that gets you the order in which you’d be boarding after those with status. Usually if you do it right at the 24 mark, you can be in a decent category which means you can go pick a seat. It’s all first come first serve type. You should be ok. Use the voucher, there is a sale that ends tomorrow!
You will get your TSA precheck ,as long as you list the Trusted Traveler number on your profile.
Paying foe Early Bird is usually worth it, unless you paid for a higher fare
Make sure you check that TSA pre is on your boarding pass after you check in too. Better safe than sorry
