I did the advertising grind for over 10 years, working for ‘the cool’ agencies, winning lots of awards and frankly had a little too much of the cool aid. I thought client side was for losers who couldn’t get a job anywhere else.
That was until a very talented. friend of mine went in-house and said it was his best job by a million miles. So I gave it a chance, and I totally get it now. Better pay, better perks, more pto, more autonomy, better projects. Unless I’m forced to due to unemployment, I never see myself returning to an agency.
Better hours. Equal pay. Less creativity. Fakest cool-aid-drinking people you will ever meet. Ever. Did I say, ever? Because I mean “ever." Some days I want to look at them and say,”Holy shit Did you really just say , thank god it’s Friday?”
Does anyone drink Kool-Aid anymore, like seriously?
9-6 life with the rare late nighter. Work/life balance is better, but it depends on how willing you are to drink the Kool-aid. Remember, once client side, that’s the only work you’ll be doing, so it can become trite quickly.
Yes. It’s ok. Better hours. Less stress. No deadlines (which actually sucks). Weird processes. Creative satisfaction??? Ehhh, I’ve had worse
@SD1 I want some now ;)
