I referee two seasons a year and work athletic game-day support at a local college. I also work a couple of hours per week as an online instructor for a computer-based learning company. I would look at a local college for various part-time options. My wife looked at grant writing opportunities, but also seriously looked into medical billing. I know somebody who has a does booths at craft shows that starting hiring a person to help. There are a lot on “non-traditional” part-time jobs out there, but finding out about them is the hard part. Be creative and use your network.

If you have an athletic background or are into sports in general, I've found coaching to be a great way to make some extra income as well as have a lot of fun while doing it

I do some freelance administrative type work during the summer and on breaks. It pays pretty decent most of the time and its really flexible. I would recommend looking on upwork for something like that, that you could do.

I just had a friend get on the teachers pay teachers site, and put some of their work up there. It’s been fun for me to look through, and something I have considered doing. I’m not sure how it all works, but may be a good passive income and I do love the concept of supporting each other.

I’m working at an insurance defense firm, trying to target my practice to L&E. I’m overworked and underpaid, but gaining valuable experience I hope to pivot toward an eventual in-house counsel position. I recently was offered an opportunity to lateral to a national firm for a significant pay increase (150% salary increase, much better benefits, hybrid WFH options). Problem-I would be shifting gears to Toxic Tort. I’m torn between my passion and the money. I’m a second year associate. WWYD?
