Hello Everyone
Need to vent for a minute. I am a middle school librarian. I service 5-8 grade students. My library ran smooth as ice cream this past year. I made my own classes and times students were allowed to check in out books. I serviced a grade a day and on Fridays everyone was allowed to come get books. We have new administration and this year I have class periods and one planning period like a regular teacher. I have 27 students in each class. " Ridiculous." Has your library changed?

same here. I feel if it’s not broke don’t fix it. I find it interesting that people who have never worked in a library setting are changing and making all the rules for us. we know what works and what doesn’t.

Do Cisco renegotiates offer if competitive offer is shown from another company? Role is for grade 10. Tech stack is networking.

Which is the more lucrative and flexible long term career path when comparing .NET development vs salesforce development.

By flexible I mean in terms of moving between positions, companies and technologies.

I've done both and am currently doing salesforce development but don't want to get pigeonholed.

I've migrated from being a software engineer to a software architect role.

Any suggestions?

Let the holidays commence!

Sweet nose, but then a hit of savory spice on the tongue with an insanely long finish that is all cigar.

I wouldn’t drink this with a cigar, because you wouldn’t notice it, but it’s insane how much that finish lingers and mimics the mouth tingle after smoking a cigar.

Anyone do podcasts with elementary in the library? I currently run a live morning announcements via YouTube with Ss but want to add in a weekly podcast. Don’t know where to start.

Curious what system everyone uses for cataloging books. We use the free version of Koha and no longer use the Dewey decimal system but catalog by genre, ie. mystery, science fiction, contemporary, action, historical fiction, etc. I took over the library after this format was set in place.

What is your favorite library skills lesson or activity to welcome K-2 students back to school?

I would greatly appreciate some fun/engaging/stimulating lesson plan ideas for high school students.
