Curious what system everyone uses for cataloging books. We use the free version of Koha and no longer use the Dewey decimal system but catalog by genre, ie. mystery, science fiction, contemporary, action, historical fiction, etc. I took over the library after this format was set in place.

Ok NOW I can finally say I passed all four parts of the CPA exam. I just accepted an offer in writing. The new job will start the background check next which I’ve been told it may take a while to complete. My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. I don’t anticipate any hiccups in the background check but is it wise to wait until the background check is complete before turning in my notice?

Need to vent for a minute. I am a middle school librarian. I service 5-8 grade students. My library ran smooth as ice cream this past year. I made my own classes and times students were allowed to check in out books. I serviced a grade a day and on Fridays everyone was allowed to come get books. We have new administration and this year I have class periods and one planning period like a regular teacher. I have 27 students in each class. " Ridiculous." Has your library changed?
