Hello all, I am learning DSA on scalar. My only dream company is Microsoft .for me package and level doesn't matter. Just development role so minimum sde 1. And optional if possible wfh. I have 7 years of experience in DOTNET. I am NOT much confidence in DSA. So I need help and guide and support how can I join Microsoft. Right now possible? as I am already learning DSA and not much salary requirements. So can they take me as sde 1. Any view and guidance help to impossible to possible.

1. Basic certifications in the cloud platforms give a well rounded idea of what’s available in their ecosystems if you work with them for eg aws, Azure, GCP
2. Find experts in your field on Twitter and follow them
3. Sign up to appropriate newsletters
4. Keep a diagram of your organisation’s architecture, start with a few chunky boxes and refine them as you learn about different systems in play at your org, you can also learn about c4 diagrams
5. Ask questions, lots of questions. IMO the best way to succeed in your role in your company is to understand your architecture first, then looking outwards
6. Ignore the gatekeepers, you’ll find loads of them at every stage in your career trying to derail your accomplishments
Ignore the people who have a problem on your promotion. Firstly, congrats.
Since things evolve in this sector quiet fast, I have subscribed into few blogs like InfoQ, High Scalability, The New Stack, Uber Engineering, Spotify Engineering, few online podcasts and following some Linkedin posts. Agree with suggestions on following thought leaders. Another i would add is Dave Farley. I would also recommend to stay in the code to maintain your craft! Assign yourself a project if you have to. Keep current and you will stay relevant and respected by your engineers.
I personally liked sites like infoq. The content there gives great insight on how companies are solving big and complex problems and latest trends.
Conferences are great for keeping up with what’s new. They are very important for architects. Also find podcasts you like to help you stay up to date. And lastly you will want to do small pet projects with tech to learn and get a first hand impression of them.
